To say that the Summer 2014 Las Vegas Market was a success is quite an understatement. With over 70 new showrooms opening and over 30% increase in traffic, this Market marked the strongest yet in years. Besides the increase in furniture buyer base, a steady expansion of both the gift and home décor category garnered over 60% and 82% increase in buyers, respectively, as reported by the International Market Centers (IMC).
This sentiment is clearly felt in our own showroom at B1168. Furniture of America had an increase in traffic since last year, and the numbers of visitors are in the hundreds. A wider range of guest demographics was also observed, as both international and local dealers continue to be the main buying targets with the addition of younger, online companies interested to learn more information about the e-commerce division.
As for products, FOA continued its focus on offering a variety of selection for every customer, from the small businesses to the more established international buyers. We continued to expand our US upholstery line while maintaining our offerings on the youth and bedroom categories. We introduced new colors for our bunk bed lines, while our juvenile Fun Rides line continues to expand. We welcomed the addition of new unique finishes on our bedroom sets with more case goods options.
For almost a week, the World Market Center in Las Vegas proved to be the center of the nation’s home furnishing industry. We are proud to be in attendance in our fifth year in a row. Thank you to all our visitors and we look forward to seeing you again in the Winter Market!
